What is the condition of Austin & Halleck?
A&H has discontinued operations and is liquidating its remaining inventory.
How can I order product from A&H?
The home page of the website has a list of available inventory and pricing. We make our best efforts to keep this current. The home page also has a facsimile form which you can print out to place an order. You can also include in an email to orders@austinhalleck.com the same information requested on the form. You should not attempt to use the website shopping system as it has been disabled.
How can I communicate with A&H?
Either by facsimile 801-655-0847 or email to orders@austinhalleck.com. There is no telephone service to/from the factory. If you call, you will simply find a greeting referring you back to the website, and no phone messages will be returned.
How can I confirm that you have: received my order, have in stock what I ordered, when will you ship my order, etc.?
At this point, we cannot respond to those inquiries. We are attempting to hire a temp who can give some email feedback but, until then, there's little we can do. If we were a "going concern" with staff and other resources to enable us to timely and appropriately respond to your questions/inquiries/needs, we'd be delighted to do so. Unfortunately, we are not, and we can not (see the first question above). I assure you, we wish it were otherwise.
What services are available from A&H?
Other than our efforts at order fulfillment, there are no available services. Specifically, there is no technical advice we can offer, nor any repair or warranty service. There is one "employee" whose sole job is to build-out guns from the remaining parts in inventory and he has neither the time nor the ability to do anything else (related to A&H). If your gun needs service, we suggest you take it to a competent gunsmith (it is not a complicated product).
What comes with my in-line purchases?
420s no longer include an additional black composite stock. Neither 420s nor 320s include the bullet packages they once did. All in-lines include three ignition packages (209 adapter installed, #11 and musket nipple), ball starter and tool kit. In-lines are shipped in a plastic gun case.
Do you have any "(fill in the blank)" available?
If it's not on the list of available inventory, we either don't have it, or aren't prepared to sell it. This refers primarily to component parts for mountain rifles. We will try to make these available when and as we have the ability to organize and catalog these pieces.
Mountain Rifles: there are no more working pieces available. We have a selection of pieces which suffer small cracks in the stock or other mechanical imperfections; we intend to disable these rifles and offer them for sale as display pieces, or cannibalize for parts (trigger and lock assemblies, other hardware, etc.). When this has been done, it will be posted on the available inventory list.
520 Shotguns, 694 Lever Actions: nothing
320s and 420s: we have an inventory of several hundred barrels, split fairly evenly between blued and satin nickel, also split evenly between 45 and 50 cal.
Can Sandy Chisholm help me?
No, Sandy is a worthless sack of s… He has no technical knowledge, lives 1800 miles away from the factory, and we don't listen to him anyway. It is a waste of your time and effort to contact him as he can be of no help to you at all.
Additional notes:
The amount of in-line rifles we can build depends wholly on the number of barrels we have in stock. Presently, we have several hundred, a mixture of both blue and satin nickel finishes in both .50 and .45 calibers. In order to make a complete gun, we attach a trigger and stock; we also add a couple of components, such as 209, Musket, and standard #11 nipples, sights and plastic shipping boxes that work as a carrying case. There is a relatively short lead time to most of these items and we plan to purchase additional components until all the barrels have been turned into complete guns.
A word about current availability and pricing: you will find that the price on some items is more than 50% of the old price. This typically applies to those parts (triggers, bolts, breech plugs and other fittings, stocks, etc.) which we need to reorder to make complete guns from the barrels which we still have in inventory. You can understand, I trust, our disinterest in purchasing product for $1 only to sell it for $1.
We sell these products and parts with the strict understanding that there is no warranty or service available from the factory, nor are we likely to freely accept any returns. Unless otherwise identified, we represent that products sold as "firsts" are manufactured to "new in box" condition. As we continue to gather all the inventory available to us, we will probably sell "seconds", trade show and sales rep samples, which will be clearly identified as such.
